Top 10 Books on My Summer Reading List

I'm linking up with The Broke and the Bookish for Top 10 Tuesday, and this week it's all about what books you want to read this summer. I created a list like this for spring and only read one of those books. One! To be fair, I read other books not on my list and tried to read one of the books I included, but I gave up on it.

Surely I can read more than one book on my summer list, especially since one of my summer bucket list items is to make a summer reading list and read all the books on it. We'll see how that works out! Now, on to the list!

1. Nowhere but Home by Liza Palmer
2. Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn
3. The Mind at Night: The New Science of How and Why We Dream by Andrea Rock
4. The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult
5. Best Friends Forever by Jennifer Weiner
6. Where'd You Go, Bernadette? by Maria Semple
7. Crazy Love by Leslie Morgan Steiner
 8. An Abundance of Katherines by John Green
 9. Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick
10. Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard
That's my list for summer! I'm really excited that most of these books are available at my local library since I don't really have extra money to buy books right now.

So, now I wanna know, what's on your reading list this summer?

Friend Makin' Monday: Just Wondering

Hi friends! Yes, it's really me! Try not to be too alarmed I'm posting on a day other than Friday weigh-in!

I have had terrible pain in my lower back today that I am hoping goes away soon. I'm going to try sleeping on the other side of my bed tonight to see if that helps. Surprisingly, I don't feel much pain while I'm walking on the treadmill. Maybe I should stay on there all day! Ha, imagine how much weight I could lose!

Anyway, today I am linking up with Kenlie for Friend Makin' Monday!

1. Do you wear glasses and/or contacts? Yes, I wear both, but I don't take my contacts out as much as I should. At some point in the future, I would LOVE to have LASIK surgery!

2. Do you have summer vacation plans? If so, where are you going? On Saturday, my sister and I are headed to Galveston for a 7-day cruise! The ports of call include Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. We were on the Triumph last year and had a blast. Counting down the days!

3. What is your favorite food to eat for breakfast? Biscuits and gravy...not a healthy choice, but it's my favorite. Funny though, I can't even remember the last time I ate that!

4. Do you enjoy window shopping? I enjoy it online, but not really in an actual store.

5. What is your favorite candle scent? Anything that smells clean and fresh

6. If you had to choose between going to a zoo or an aquarium, which one would you pick? I would pick the zoo. Elephants are one of my favorite animals!

7. How many times do you plan to exercise this week? At least 4 times...I walked on the treadmill today, and I plan to work out tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday.

8. Do you speak another language fluently? Sadly, no. If I could speak Spanish, there would be so many more job opportunities available for me.

9. What are you currently reading? Goodnight Nobody by Jennifer Weiner...I like it so far!

10. What are you looking forward to most in the coming week? Besides the cruise of course, I am getting a haircut on Friday! It's been over a year since I last cut it, so it is much needed for sure!!

That's all I've got for today! If you want to join in with the link-up, then answer the questions on your blog, and leave a comment on Kenlie's post with a link to your post. Leave me a comment below if you join in!

Sorry for posting so late, but I went with my mom and grandma up to Oklahoma today to attend a celebration of life service for my cousin, Lynn. She was one of my mom's first cousins, which would make her one of my second cousins. She was such a strong woman and fought a very difficult battle. She will be greatly missed, but we know she's in a better place now free from pain, grief, and sorrow. May she rest in peace.

Thursday Thoughts

Today I'm linking up with Jennifer  for Thursday Thoughts!

Thursday Thoughts

~I finished up my long-term sub job in Head Start today. I have to say that I enjoyed the past month with those kiddos so much! There are a few of them that I wish I could have in a classroom of my own somewhere down the road. Who knows? Anything could happen!

~My family will be celebrating my papa's 70th birthday on Saturday! We are going to a restaurant called De Happy Cajun. I've never been there, so that will be a fun, new experience. I have to say that I am extremely lucky to be able to say that ALL of my grandparents are alive and well.

~Okay, I had a really horrible experience at a hair salon my senior year of high school, so now I wait FOREVER between haircuts. I'm normally a follow-the-rules kinda person, but you'll never see me at a hair salon every six weeks getting a trim. The last time I got a haircut was last year before the cruise! I want NEED to get a haircut before our next cruise. I'm thinking this is what I want to go with.

~Today I got an email from Julep about Destination Mystery Boxes. I WANT ONE! The hard part will be deciding which one to pick. I'm leaning towards Miami. 'Glitzy' may have helped with that...

It is a beautiful evening in my neighborhood, so I'm going off to take my dog for a walk. I'll be back tomorrow for my weekly weigh-in!

2013 Summer Bucket List

This past week both Ricci and Halie posted their summer bucket lists. I thought it seemed like a fun idea, so here is what I came up with for what I would like to cross off my bucket list this summer!

1. Watch fireworks
2. Go camping

3. Eat a snowcone

4. Take a Zumba class

5. Volunteer at the animal shelter
6. Eat fresh seafood at the beach

7. Give blood

8. Make a summer reading list, and read all the books on it

9. Buy a kettlebell (and actually use it! :-D)

10. Go to a Rangers game
Even though summer doesn't officially begin until June 21st, I'm starting today, and I hope to have it completed by the official last day of summer, which is September 21st.

Now I wanna know...what would be on YOUR summer bucket list?
